Drivable Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 7, 2026
Drivable is a drive tracking app by Lutjen Lee. This policy explains what information the app handles, why it is used, where it is stored, and the choices available to you.
Information Drivable Uses
When you start a drive, Drivable uses your precise device location to record your route, distance, duration, speed, and related trip statistics. Location may continue to be used in the background while an active drive recording is in progress, so the app can keep recording if you lock your phone or leave the app. Drivable does not record a route when there is no active drive.
You may optionally give a trip a custom name, import timestamped GPX activities, and attach photos to a locally stored drive. Drivable uses Apple's system photo picker, which gives the app access only to photos you explicitly select.
Accounts and Cloud Sync
Creating a Drivable account is optional. You can record and manage drives locally without an account.
If you explicitly enable Cloud Sync and sign in, Drivable uploads the following information to your private account:
- Your account email address and account identifier.
- Existing and future drive routes, including precise latitude, longitude, timestamps, speed readings, and route-segment information.
- Drive statistics such as distance, duration, average speed, and top speed.
- Trip names, GPX source information, bookmarks, and archive status.
This information is used only to provide account authentication, backup, synchronization, and access through the Drivable web interface. Photos attached to drives in the iOS app remain stored locally on your device and are not uploaded by Cloud Sync.
Drivable uses Supabase as its authentication, database, file-storage, and synchronization service provider. Information stored by Supabase is handled on Drivable's behalf to provide these features.
Profile Information
If you use a Drivable account in the iOS app or on the web, you may optionally save and edit a display name, profile location, avatar, banner, and preferences. These items synchronize through your private Drivable account so changes made on one platform can be reflected on the other.
When you choose an avatar or banner in the iOS app, Drivable accesses only the image you select and uploads a processed copy to Supabase. Profile images are stored in a private bucket associated with your account and are displayed using authenticated or time-limited access. Replacing or removing a profile image updates the profile record and removes the previous image from active use.
Retention and Deletion
Local trip information remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app, subject to iOS backup and restore behavior.
Cloud-synchronized information remains associated with your account until you delete individual activities or delete your account. You can initiate permanent account deletion from Settings → Drivable Account → Delete Account in the iOS app. Account deletion removes your Drivable authentication account, synchronized activities, profile, and stored profile images from Drivable's cloud service.
Deleting your cloud account does not automatically erase drives or attached photos stored locally on your iPhone. You can continue using those local drives, delete them individually, or remove the app to remove its local app data.
Maps
Drivable uses Apple MapKit to display maps and recorded routes. Apple's handling of information used to provide Apple Maps is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Live Activities
Drivable may show a Live Activity while a drive is active. The Live Activity displays drive information such as elapsed time, distance, and speed so you can see useful stats while recording.
Tracking, Advertising, and Sale of Data
Drivable does not use third-party advertising, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell your personal information. Account and drive information is used for Drivable app functionality, security, synchronization, and support.
Sharing
Drivable does not make your synchronized drives public. If you choose the Share action, Drivable creates a drive summary and presents the iOS share sheet. Information leaves Drivable only when you explicitly choose a destination, and the receiving app or service handles that information under its own privacy policy.
Your Choices
You can use Drivable without an account, leave Cloud Sync disabled, edit or remove profile information and images, sign out, delete synchronized activities, or permanently delete your account. You can control location access in iOS Settings. Disabling location access prevents new drive recording but does not prevent you from viewing and managing existing local trips.
Children
Drivable is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
This policy may be updated if Drivable changes how it handles information. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
